Morningside Cemetery

Morningside Cemetery is the Town's municipal cemetery and is located just off the Parker Head Road in a tranquil spot adjoining a tidal cove.

The recent expansion has more than doubled the capacity of the earlier section.

Lot Purchase

Cemetery lots are available for purchase by town residents and taxpayers for $400.00 plus filing fee of $20.00 and non-residents for $800.00 plus filing fee of $20.00.  The price is for a single lot and perpetual care is included with a lot purchase.  A copy of the site plan is available for viewing at the Town Hall.

For further information please call Karl Smith (primary) at (207) 389-1370, Lorana Pierce (secondary) at (207) 389-1510.

Rule Reminders

Lot owners are reminded that the cemetery is closed to vehicular traffic from December 15th to April 15th.  Also, cemetery regulations prohibit the planting of shrubs and trees on grave lots.  No dogs allowed in Cemetery.

Private Cemeteries

There are over one hundred private cemeteries on private lands in the Town of Phippsburg.  Although the cemetery trustees are not responsible for their maintenance, all residents are encouraged to respect these sacred resting places. We appreciate the effort made by some folks and organizations to maintain these old, private cemeteries.  A map of private cemeteries is available for review at the Town Office.
